Visit statistics

How many people come here, which pages they open, how long they stay and where they arrive from. Counted without IP addresses, without cookies, and without being able to recognise anyone from one day to the next — the method is spelled out at the bottom of this page.

How these numbers are counted

The hard part of counting visitors is telling two people apart without following either of them. Here is the whole mechanism, so you can judge it rather than take our word for it.

  • Two pings per page

One when the page opens, one when you leave it, carrying how many seconds it was open. Nothing else is sent.

  • The IP is never stored

The server hashes it together with the browser string and a random salt, and keeps only the hash. The address itself is discarded within minutes.

  • The salt changes every night

Yesterday's salt is overwritten, so yesterday's hashes cannot be matched to today's. A returning visitor is a new number tomorrow — which is why "all time" says daily visits, summed rather than "people".

  • No cookies, no local storage, no id

Nothing is written to your device, so there is nothing to consent to and nothing to clear. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, no ping is sent at all.

What is recorded per event: the day, the daily hash, which page, the host of the page you arrived from (never the full address), a rough screen-width bucket, browser family and operating system family, and the seconds spent on the page.
What is never recorded: IP addresses, exact user-agent strings, account names, screen resolutions, mouse movement, scroll depth, anything you type, anything you build in the Shader Graph editor, and any identifier that survives past midnight.

Country is not shown here for the same reason: working it out requires the IP address, and we would rather not have one. Figures are rebuilt every few minutes from a small SQLite file on the same server. The full policy is in the Privacy Policy and the Data Processing Policy.
